Present continuous

→ to express habits



Example:

  • He plays football in a club.

→ to express something happening right now


Example:

  • He is playing football at the moment.

→ to express a permanent situation


Example:

  • My grandmother lives in Australia.



→ to express a temporary situation


Example:

  • I’m living with my sister until I find a house.



→ to express things in general



Example:

  • Water boils at 100 degrees °C.


→ to express something that is not finished


Example:

  • It is raining now.

→ often used with time indicators such as every day, every week, every month, every year, always, usually, often, sometimes, never, etc.

→ often used with adverbs such as at the moment, just now, right now, now, etc.
